by Slo Mo 00/Jul/16 7/5/00 12:42pm Dear Mo, Just wondering how things are going at the house, and if Pookie-Poo is okay. (Does he miss me? Even a little?) I know you're the best sitter I could have ever hoped to find, and the world's best cousin, too. Sorry I haven't written sooner, but work's been hectic. Anyway, thanks for everything, and most especially for taking such great care of my beloved house and my even-more-beloved dog. You're a doll! Love, Kat 7/6/00 11:21am Dear Mo, Here's something odd - I just got a fax from the president of the civic association. He claims you AND Pookie-Poo (?!?!?) got arrested for having a porn party on the 4th of July. I'm sure he's mistaken. (How could they arrest a dog?) Please write back! Love, Kat 7/7/00 8:03am Dear Mo, Relieved to hear the police were there as part of the Independence Day festivities, and not because you were in any sort of trouble. Though I'm not clear why Pooks got suspended from Happy Hounds doggie day camp. Also, please refer to Pookie-Poo by his real name, not just "Dog". It's bad for his self-esteem... Glad you're having fun. I'm a bit homesick. I miss the beach. My contract is going very well, though, and there's a good chance it will be extended into next year. Would you still be available to house-sit? Love, Kat P.S. What's this on the pool maintenance records about a giant "jello clog"? 7/9/00 3:13pm Dear Mo, Frankly, I find it hard to believe that you "accidentally" dropped an entire bottle of massage oil all over the leather divan, but we'll let that one go. I know you're a big girl, and I realize you're bound to have some overnight company. Just please, please, please exercise caution and good sense. And make them take their shoes off at the door. By the way, I got a nice email from Joolz last night. She thinks those new neighbors (Bollocks?) were overreacting about the controversy re: your giant Sex Pistols poster. But perhaps you could take it out of the front window, anyway? Thanks, kiddo. Love, Kat 7/10/00 7:59 am Dear Mo, Never mind about freedom of speech and artistic expression and the fact that the Bollocks' son was a little pervert BEFORE he saw the poster with Johnny Rotten's fake erection. Just take it down, for crying out loud!!! 7/10/00 9:12am Dear Mo, Did you really take it down, or are you just saying that to appease me? Things are starting to go crappy on this side of the pond. Or maybe I've just had a bad week. My clients are a bunch of tiny, tiny men with even tinier brains and yesterday's "Celebration Of Excellence" debacle, in which all of the excellence awards had typos, was (almost) the last straw. Might take some vacation days and fly home. But don't tell Pookie-Poo until I'm certain. I don't like to get his hopes up. Love, Kat 7/11/00 2:05 pm Dear Mo, Yes, I was serious when I said I might come home for a few days. You seem nervous. Why? Love, Kat 7/11/00 8:28pm Dear Mo, WHAT mishap with Pookie-poo and some glitter glue?!?!?!?!? 7/12/00 1:21pm Dear Mo, Okay, I've calmed down. First, I understand it wasn't entirely your fault that Pooks found Joolz's bike sale posters and rolled on them before they were dry. The fact that he had just been groomed is unfortunate but, I'm sure, entirely coincidental. Of course, you and Joolz could have had the foresight not to leave all those wet, glitter-glued posters on the floor in the first place, but... let's just move on. (For the record, I'm NOT thrilled that Pookie now resembles "a hairy Gwen Stefani". I hate that band.) So yes, please have him shaved down ASAP. Love, Kat P.S. But for god's sake, let the groomer do it!!! P.P.S. Thanks for keeping me informed. 7/12/00 1:37pm Dear Mo, Me again. Listen, I just remembered something: do not, I repeat, DO NOT use those old electric clippers in Pookie's supply cupboard. They cut too short and uneven, and Pook can get a nasty shock if the wire short circuits, which it does. I hope you don't think I distrust you. I know you're very smart and capable and responsible... just don't use those clippers on my dog! Love, Kat 7/13/00 10:37am Mo, That does it. I'll be home tomorrow. Kat |
